PhotoSteps support
How can we help?
Email support@fatcode.org with your app version, Android version, and a concise description of what happened.
Before attaching anything
Do not send private photographs or project instructions unless they are needed to explain the issue. Review diagnostic files before sharing them.
Where are my projects stored?
Projects, managed photographs, preferences, and diagnostics are stored locally in PhotoSteps' private app storage. There is no PhotoSteps login or cloud account in the free release. Uninstalling or clearing app storage can remove this data.
Why does PhotoSteps request photo access?
Photo access is used to import step images, save numbered project images, and check whether tracked gallery exports still exist. Camera access is requested only when you choose to take a photo. You can manage permissions in Android Settings.
Why is gallery synchronization unavailable?
Gallery synchronization needs sufficient photo-library access to inspect the PhotoSteps album and avoid duplicate exports. Review Android Settings → Apps → PhotoSteps → Permissions and allow the requested photo access, then try again.
How do I back up a project?
Generate and save a PDF, or save the numbered images to a gallery album and back up that destination using a service you trust. PhotoSteps does not currently offer a complete project backup or restore feature.
How do I delete data?
Delete projects inside PhotoSteps to remove their app-managed records and images. PDFs, gallery exports, shared copies, and device backups are separate and must be removed from their destination. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes the remaining private app data from that installation.
How do I share a diagnostic log?
The Diagnostic logs option appears in Settings only after PhotoSteps encounters and records an error. If there are no recorded errors, the option is not visible. If you wish to help the developer diagnose a problem, open Settings → Diagnostic logs → Save diagnostic log and choose a folder. The saved plain-text file contains every sanitized diagnostic entry included in the export, so you can review its complete contents before sharing it. You may then manually attach the file to an email to support@fatcode.org. PhotoSteps never uploads a log, sends an email, or attaches the file automatically.
